Exam Day Checklist

  • Match the governance feature to the need: access packages bundle resources behind a request, approval, and expiry; access reviews recertify access someone already has; PIM activates a privileged role just in time.
  • Name the least-privileged role: Identity Governance Administrator for catalogs and access packages, Privileged Role Administrator for PIM assignments of Microsoft Entra roles, Conditional Access Administrator for policies and terms of use, and Reports Reader for sign-in logs.
  • Know the licensing line: Conditional Access and terms of use need P1; ID Protection risk policies and PIM need P2; auto-assignment policies, access reviews of inactive users, and lifecycle workflows need Microsoft Entra ID Governance.
  • Send logs where the scenario points: a storage account for cheap long-term archive, a Log Analytics workspace for KQL and workbooks, and an event hub for a non-Microsoft SIEM. Microsoft Entra itself keeps audit and sign-in logs for 7 days on Free and 30 days on P1 or P2.
  • Expect moved and retiring features: PIM manages Azure resources with no onboarding step, terms of use live under Conditional Access, and the legacy Identity Protection risk policies retire on October 1, 2026 in favor of Conditional Access.
  • Read the final sentence of a long scenario first to find the actual question.
  • Watch for qualifiers such as NOT, BEST, and MOST appropriate.
  • You have 100 minutes and need 700 to pass. Flag hard questions and come back; change an answer only with a clear reason.
